Faith is never a straight path. Even the most devout believers encounter moments where God seems distant or His commands obscure. Doubt, often feared as weakness, is in fact an invitation. An invitation to wrestle with God and engage Him directly.

The Bible offers us examples of how to face doubt with courage. Consider Jacob, running from his brother Esau, unsure of his future. God appears to him in a vision, and Jacob doesn’t merely accept it passively. He challenges God: “If you are the God I will follow, provide for me, protect me, and I will honor you in return.” This wasn’t arrogance—it was a covenantal exchange of faith and trust. God rewarded Jacob, showing that honest engagement with doubt can lead to divine blessing.

Similarly, in Malachi, God calls His people to faithful tithing. He invites them to test Him in this obedience: “Bring the whole tithe…and see if I will not open the floodgates of heaven.” Here again, God delights in His people confronting their doubts and stepping forward in faith.

Even in the New Testament, Jesus meets doubt with patience. A father comes, pleading for his demon-possessed son, and admits, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” Jesus meets him where he is, healing the boy, proving that doubt does not disqualify anyone from God’s love—it can deepen it.

The modern believer often fears doubt, but the Bible shows us a different path. Challenge God. Wrestle with Him. Seek His guidance and witness His faithfulness. Faith built this way is alive, tested, and strong. It is in the wrestling that we find a deeper relationship, one that leads to blessings, growth, and spiritual maturity.

Take your doubts to God. Step forward in faith. Engage Him honestly, and watch as your faith transforms into something unshakable.
